春眠不觉晓,

处处闻啼[2]鸟。

夜来风雨声,

花落知多少。

注释:

[1] 春晓:春天的早晨。

[2] 啼:人的啼哭或鸟兽的叫。此处指鸟叫。

A Spring Morning

Meng Haoran

This spring morning in bed I’m lying,

Not to awake till birds are crying.

After one night of wind and showers,

How many are the fallen flowers!

This quatrain reveals the poet’s love of spring and his regret of her departure.
