“Black Cat Detective”, also referred as “Black Cat Sheriff” or “Black Cat Inspector”, is another classic animation produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio.
The story is about the detective Mr. Black Cat traveling around on his motorcycle and solving a variety of tough cases. He was a spectacular detective and solved many cases, punished many criminals and protected residents of the forest. “Black Cat Detective I” was first shown on TV in 1984 in five episodes. The image of the Mr. Black Cat was welcomed by children and was very successful.
CCTV released “Black Cat Detective II” in 1993, and Shanghai Animation Film Studio released its film in 2010. However, due to foreign animation as well as the different demands of the new teenage generation, the sequel and film didn’t receive much recognition.
