落 帽 恣 欢 饮
授 衣 同 试 新。
茱 萸 正 可 佩
折 取 寄 情 亲。

Chu jiu wei cheng xun
Chong yang ji ci chen.
Deng gao wen gu shi
Zai jiu fang you ren.
Luo mao zi huan yin
Shou yi tong shi xin.
Zhu yu zheng ke pei
Zhe qu ji qing qin.
New Composition for Double-Nine Days
For fifteen years have not observed the mid-autumn holiday
Double-Nine Festival begins this morning.
Climbing high, searching for things from the past
Carry wine, looking to visit the hermits.
Do not need to wear a hat, so happy to drink and share wine
We receive and try on our new clothes.
Medicinal and floral garland can be worn at the waist
Chrysanthemums used many different ways to express one’s feelings to relatives.
Notes:
Double Nine Festival: Also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival. It occurs during the full moon on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month. In the west we use the term “harvest moon”. For three thousand years the celebration includes lanterns and mooncakes.
