Northern Ravine Floating By Boat

北 涧 泛 舟
北 涧 流 常 满
浮 舟 触 处 通。
没 洄 自 有 趣
何 必 五 湖 中。
Bei Jian Fan Zhou

Bei jian liu chang man
Fu zhou chu chu tong.
Mei he zi you qu
He bi wu hu zhong.

Northern Ravine Floating By Boat

Shallow-draft boats can reach into newly accessible places.
Overflowing into swirls naturally brings delight
Why do I have to travel amid the Five Lakes.

Notes:

Five Lakes:  Freshwater lakes in eastern and central China include the Tai, Hongze, Chao, Poyang and Dongting. In ancient texts only Lake Tai was recognized.
