Drinking Wine: Twenty Poems: No. 15

Yin Jiu: Er Shi Shou

Pin ju fa ren gong
Guan mu huang yu zhai.
Ban ban you xiang niao
Ji ji wu xing ji.

Yu zhou yi he you
Ren sheng shao zhi bai.
Sui yue xiang cui bi
Bin bian zao yi bai.
Ruo bu wei qiong da
Su bao shen ke xi !

Drinking Wine: Twenty Poems: No. 15

Impoverished house, not enough money to hire workers
Neglected bushes all around my house.
Hard at work, flying birds are tame
Very quiet, no traces of human activities.

The Universe, how large and boundless
Human life only spans up to one hundred years.
Time and the years press and pushes on and on
Early on, my temple hair already white.
Have to endure so much poverty
Simple desires have lead to this undesirable condition.
