Drinking Wine: Twenty Poems: No. 4

Yin Jiu: Er Shi Shou

Xi xi shi qun niao
Ri mu you du fei.
Pai huai wu ding zhi
Ye ye sheng zhuan bei.

Li xiang si qing yuan
Qu lai he yi yi ?
Yin zhi gu sheng song
Lian he yao lai gui.

Jin feng wu rong mu
Ci yin du bu shuai.
Tuo shen yi dei suo
Qian zai bu xiang wei.

Drinking Wine: Twenty Poems: No. 4

Perched for awhile away from the flock
At sunset, still flying alone.
Moving back and forth without stopping to rest
Every night the sounds become sad.

Sharp sounds, thinking of the distant calm
When the sun comes out, who knows where to go?
Happen upon a large, solitary pine tree
Fold up my wings, arrive at the distant tree.

Powerful winds, trees without foliage
Only this tree able to provide shade.
Now can rely on living in this place
I can stay here for a thousand years.
