皇 甫 岳 云 溪 杂 题: 五 首
鸬 鹚 堰
乍 向 红 莲 没
复 出 清 浦 扬。
独 立 何 褵 褷
衔 鱼 古 查 上。

Zha xiang hong lian mei
Fu chu qing pu yang.
Du li he li shi
Xian yu gu cha shang.

Cormorant Levees

At first they disappear under the red lotus
To emerge again at the clear water’s edge flying upward.
Independently with wet feathers stuck together
Holding a fish in its mouth, perched upon a wood stump.
