Yu Mountain Goddess Ancestral Temple: Two Poems

Boom-boom the drums sound from Yu mountain foothills.
Play bamboo flutes, gaze far into the river’s estuary.
Women shamen enter, continuously dance and dance
Displayed on jade mats, crystal clear wine and fine food.

Wind turns very cold and dreary before evening rain
Are the divine beings going to arrive?
Make my heart-mind endure this pain and hardship.

Notes:

Drums: Used to summon, and then send off, heavenly gods and goddesses needed to help those on earth
