Dong Jie is a Chinese actress born in Dalian, Liaoning. She graduated from the Dance Department of the Military Culture College of the National Defense University of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

The same year director Zhang Yi Mou selected her to star in the film “Happy Times,” for which she won the 7th China Film Huabiao Award for New Film Talent and the Best Actress Award at the 47th Valladolid International Film Festival in Spain.

In 2003, she starred in the romantic drama “The Story of a Noble Family,” which won the CCTV annual ratings award.
