读 “山 海 经”: 十 三 首
翩 翩 三 青 鸟
毛 色 奇 可 怜。
朝 为 王 母 使
暮 归 三 危 山。
我 欲 因 此 鸟
具 向 王 母 言:
在 世 无 所 须
惟 酒 与 长 年。
Du “Shan Hai Jing“: Shi San Shou

(5)

Pian pian san qing niao
Mao se qi ke lian.
Zhao wei wang mu shi
Mu gui san wei shan.

Wo yu yin ci niao
Ju xiang wang mu yan.
Zai shi wu suo xu
Wei jiu you chang nian.

Several green birds flutter lightly
Colored feathers very beautiful.
At dawn they take a message to the immortal Queen Mother of the Western Heavens
At sunset they return to the Sanwei mountains.

I want these birds to carry a message for me
Go up to the immortal Queen Mother.
For my life I want nothing else
But to live long and drink wine.

Notes:

Sanwei mountains: Located near Dunhuang, Gansu Province.
